Sadek Tazi, the nurseryman who supplied our plants
and went to special lengths to get the two outdoor
palms, made a surprise visit with his wife and
sister and we were celebrating with glasses of
champagne at the bar. Issam strolled over and
took our picture. They sat down to eat, I continued
greeting clients while Issam worked away at the
photo printer. He had the idea of personalized
postcards and used the picture of me with Sadek
and his party as a test. You see the result and
the "We've been there" postcards were born. Since
then we've made postcards for Monica Henreid (daughter
of Paul), current and former U.S. Ambassadors,
French actor/comedian Jacques Villeret, former
Governor of Casablanca Driss Benhima, one of The
Usual Suspects, Alan Rothenberg (inaugurating
our cigar humidor) and the Deputy Director of
my bank (with a modification of the phrase to
read: "We've been there.and. it's ours).
